Re: GA-EP45-DQ6 bios reboot loop infinity

Does your system work at all, or are you always stuck in this loop? If you are always stuck please try clearing your CMOS and starting the system with only 1 stick of ram. See my method in Post #2 here for clearing the CMOS >>

If you can ever get into your BIOS you need to set Performance Enhance to standard, set your ram voltage and add some MCH Voltage. And check and be sure your Static tRead is not to low (6/7-10 333/B MCH - 8/9-12 400/D MCH)

Re: GA-EP45-DQ6 bios reboot loop infinity

Ahh ok, then ya be sure you manually set your ram to it's spec voltage and then add some MCH Voltage, maybe 1.2-1.24 would be good.

The Static tRead value setting depends on what Memory Multiplier you are using. Here is a image showing them all, if you are using a B one then yes use 6-10 starting with 10 and working your way down testing as you go >>>

Re: GA-EP45-DQ6 bios reboot loop infinity

Can you record this beep and upload it somewhere for me to hear please? It is often Graphics card, which could mean your PSU Does not support your Card + System very well.

It could also mean bad ram timings/voltages as you also said. Please post for me the full settings you are using, and if you can record and upload this beep so I can hear it >>>

And do tell me for sure which ram you are using and how much too as you mentioned two kinds above

This is Just a template I use to ask people their settings, pay no attention to the numbers in it, replace with yours

Re: GA-EP45-DQ6 bios reboot loop infinity

i had the same problem with my udp, turned out to be a bad stick of ram, try booting up with one stick of ram at a time in all slots, and if there is one stick of ram that doesnt work in any of the slots than its a bad stick of ram

Re: GA-EP45-DQ6 bios reboot loop infinity

Please find my test report at GA-EP45-DQ6 Test Jan' 07 2009
                under today's date 20090107-01

I've gone to minimum hardware (removed 2 PCI cards, unconnected 6 SATA disks, but didn't moved the video card at blue slot) so to debug and included an 'Everest' file report of my configuration.

                Harware Config today 2009 01 07 - 01:
                -------------------------------------
                No PCI slot used
Graphic card HD4850 Sapphire in PGA blue slot x16 with PCI-E power connector connected
Only Sata2_0 and Sata2_1, 2* Samsung HD103UJ disks - All other disks unconnected at power and sata cables.
Memory is 4* DIMM Corsair XMS2 CM2X1024-8500C5D Q => See Everest report attached for timings.

At first day boot, after long night motherboard off, power surge plugged, no long beep sound. Only the classical short beep.
The bios stops after 'Memory Tes' (without the T) then reboots and goes up to Vista login without problem at second pass.

During Bios the Raid/AHCi screen appears, but no Raid installed for the 2* Samsung HD103UJ disks.

Why the POST reboots after 'Memory Tes' (without the T)?

                Goal:
                -----
I investigate further, first by changing memory timing, then adding PCI cards and then connecting back my other 6 SATA disks. Wait a whole night between tests so trying to catch back this long beep at startup.

Re: GA-EP45-DQ6 bios reboot loop infinity

The long beeps are normally related to ram. Did you try with only one stick? Can you borrow different ram to test with? Any DDR2 will be fine

Can you test this ram one by one with memtest86+ >>>
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

In your system or any other. If you can get into the BIOS please do change performance enhance to standard and set your ram voltage

And if you still have issues can you please fill out the above template and post it back here with what settings you are using that fail you
