hello i have an ep45-ud3p board with c2q9550 cpu (AC freezer 7 pro cooler)

and i was wondering... what might be a safe - OC for it ?

im currently not over-clocking it in any way,but i tired before to OC it by ET to 3.40GHZ and it worked well with no prob... my knowledge in the filed of OC is quite small so i dont want do any hardware damage ... thats why i used the ET insted of configure it by bios .

so from here to there i noticed that my bios version is F4 ... and the latest offically non beta version is F6... does it worth flashing ? the F6 change log says that it better support ET ... any one can confirm that ?...and does it safe to flash bios by this forum method ? is it riskless or what might be the success/fail ratio ?

thx alot to all the helpers in adveance

        Re: ep45-ud3p few questions

Best to use your BIOS as ET will likely kill your CPU as it uses WAY to much volts.

Get 3.4 going in your BIOS and then work on 3.6. 3.4 should be easy for you to setup, just do not leave Termination or Pll on Auto

If you need some help with settings and you cannot find any listed here (There is for sure) let me know and I will help you

thanks a lot for the willing to help .

so i guess i go the bios way... but where do i start ?

how do i setup the M.I.T section in the bios ?

i don't wanna fry anything.. so .. help would be nice and some explanations
what to do...and what not .

Did you read the stickies? They will give you much knowledge about what to do and what not to do. Yes, they are not made for your board but you should read them so you get a idea of what you are doing

Here, this would be optimal ranges for 3.4, not sure about your ram speed since you did not link your ram so I will put it at 900Mhz for now >>>

            Code:

Yes, but you may need to raise your timings to get it stable.

                    Re: ep45-ud3p few questions

Lsdmeasap i tried those settings you gave me here.. they make my pc .... loop power up... power down... with beeping .
after three times my bios load and when i entered the M.I.T settings... there was a red note that said that my computer failed to boot and bla bla bla...

i did all the values in the ranges you said ... and on the Dram voltage i put 2.1v as appear on my mem sticker .
there where some places where you said to leave...but my setting although they where the same as yours by volt... just mine were by [auto].. so i change them to the same value they already had ..but without the [auto]

so i dont know what did i do wrong .
                    please please help .

                      Re: ep45-ud3p few questions

Please post for me the exact settings you tried that failed and I will advise back, you likely just set one or more of them too low is all

Do not set all voltages you see to what you see on the left, If I did not note about them leave them in Auto. Especially your Ref voltages. Setting them manually without knowledge of what they are doing may be incorrect and they should be left in auto as I noted above.

now which software should i use to monitor the temps of my cpu ?
and which software should i use to check it's stability ?

Core Temp or Real Temp for CPU Core Temps, and Memtest86+ for your ram, and I use Orthos for CPU/Ram testing but there is Plenty of others. Here is out list of apps, soon to be a sticky (see Post #3) >>>

Looks good, you will have to set your own static tread next for better benchmark scores as auto likely puts it higher then need be

thanks man... I'm running the prime95 test now...
for how long should i let it ran?

and again assuming everything with the test will rock! ... i didn't quite understood what you meant by saying
