Re: GA-EP45-UD3R w/e6550 Overclocking Settings

Forgot to mention, Prime95 x64 and Memtest 86+ both run for hours with this setup, although temps get up to about 66 degrees in Prime95's highest stress test.

        Sorry so late buddy!

I will asssume you would like some optimal ranges for your setup right? Yes, Auto and 4GB of ram and or overclocking is generally not best. And Auto voltage when overclocking are FOR SURE not best as they are often WAY to much

Just look in CPU-z for what Auto is giving you know and start with that setting in the BIOS and then lower until it fails then raise back up a few. Do note that what you set in the BIOS will be less in windows, so what you see with Auto in CPU-z may not be enough as a manual setting in the BIOS as there is a drop from what you set to what you get. Just keep that in mind, and note the amount difference

          Re: GA-EP45-UD3R w/e6550 Overclocking Settings

I actually have 4-2GB memory chips. Does that change anything on the memory settings? This is the memory:

          Newegg.com - Kingston 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

I haven't been able to find any official specs on it.

          Thanks,
          Jason

            Re: GA-EP45-UD3R w/e6550 Overclocking Settings

I made the other changes you suggested. Setting the voltages manually really reduced my temps. Prime95 went down 4C and Intel Burn went down about 6C. I have a Zalman cooler, Prime95 maxes at 54C and Intel Burn maxes at 58C. Everything seems just as stable too.

Also, I do have the settings I listed as N/A, I just was not looking in the right place. CIA2 is disabled and all the Driving Strength Profiles are set to Auto.

              Re: GA-EP45-UD3R w/e6550 Overclocking Settings

Ya, 8GB would change them a little, but you could be stable with the ones above. Sounds like you may be right? If not, let me know and I will give you some new ones

I can't find any real Official info either, just normal specs at a few places... Cas5 1.8V and such

So you should be ok with 1.85-1.9V anyway as that is not too hot on any ram. If you can use less than 555-15 that is good, no need to raise it if you get it stable.

For 8GB you may need more MCH or higher tRFC though

Let me know how your stability tests and such come along, and if you would like some different settings

I think I am in good shape now. I have been using it to encode videos for the past few days and everything is working great. Thanks for your help.
