EP45 - UD3R need bios settings

Hello all. New member here. I was told about this forum by a friend on GamingTrend's forum. He said I could post my specs and get the best bios settings from you guys. Usually I can do this but this board is PACKED with so many options Ive never seen I really need the help.

My specs..
E8400
4 gigs PATRIOT PVS24G8500ELKR2 pc8500
EVGA 896-P3-1264-AR Geforce GTX 260 896MB
EP45 - UD3R
1 500gig WD hd KS sata
1 external Maxtor 300 gig HD firewire
1 LG DVD-R sata
I have a cd-rw connected but it doesn't see it
a SB Audigy 2 ZS pci sound card
1 cable modem connected via mobo lan
Sceptre 20" lcd

Ive not changed any settings cept my boot order..Let me know if I need to post something plz. Im not looking for an overclocking setup right now. Just optimal settings. What should be on / off or set to. Im a gamer only btw.

2 problems im having. Might be solved once I see the bios tweaks I requested...is 1. My IDE cdrw is not detected at all. Might be a jumper on the cdr itself, not sure. And 2. I installed the onboard sound stuff just to see how it sounded. Then I deleted the drivers for it and stuff and put my Audigy 2 ZS in..but each time I reboot it redetects the onboard and wants to reinstall the hardware. I have to hit cancel everytime I reboot. Annoying.

I'm not familiar with your board so I won't be much help but the sound issue should be as simple as disableing onboard sound in the bios. Otherwise Windows is going to pick it up everytime you boot.

Ya it should but I cannot for the life of me find the onboard sound setting in the bios. usually its easy to spot but I dont see it. Im going to re read my manual for the 8th time to be sure :)

After a look at your mobo manual ... You should be able to turn off the onboard sound by disableing the "Azalia Codec" under the "Integrated Peripherals" heading in your bios.

Ya that was it. A member on another forum tossed that to me earlier. Now to just find out the best settings here :)

This should get you started in the right direction. Some settings (like RAM timings) will depend on your particular hardware. These settings work well for me. If you have any trouble let us know. To other forum members, please feel free to offer alternative settings.

Any more bios tweaks? Ive read this thread and looked through the manual but a lot of settings still seem vague.
