EP45-DS4P 8GB + Corsair DDR2 1066 won't work

  • EP45-DS4P 8GB + Corsair DDR2 1066 won't work

    Hi folks,

    I'm having some issues getting an EP45-DS4P (F8 BIOS) to jibe with 8GB (four 2GB sticks) of Corsair XMS2 DDR2 1066.

    All RAM sticks test fine (tested in pairs using Memtest and Prime95)
    Running 4GB (a pair of the 2GB sticks) works just fine.
    Whenever I install all four sticks, Memtest test 7 shows an error... and Prime95 fails.

    I've tried various tweaks that I've seen on these forums... and nothing seems to resolve the issue.

    At this point, I'm thinking the XMS2 RAM simply isn't going to work with the EP45-DS4P.

    Any thoughts?

    Please post me a exact link to the model you have, and then fill this in with what you are trying to get going. And please also let us know what CPU you have >>>

      I was running the DRAM voltage at 2.1v and both Memtest and Prime95 failed quickly. By upping the DRAM voltage to 2.2v, I got 9+ hours into Prime95's blend test before it failed.

      Should I just get a different brand of RAM?
      I'm not sure what else to tweak...

        Have you tested each stick one by one yet? If not you should
        Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

        8GB is alot to run at 1066, but it can be done. Is your NB Too hot to touch for more then 10 seconds after memtest has been running for about 10 minutes? If so your NB is overheating and you may need to add a fan onto it. And I do advise you put a fan on your ram if you insist on using 2.2V
