Which SATA ports on UD3P for RAID?

Which are the best/right ports to use for a RAID1 setup on the UD3P board.....the Sata ports on the Southbridge or the 2 Sata ports on the Gigabyte chip? I see directions for setting up both in the manual but nothing about chosing one or the other. Thanks.

Southbridge..... Ports 0 and 1.

THanks. Are the 2 ports on the Gigabyte chip used for anything in particular?

use for anything you want .. another raid .. ide .... what ever you choose

Yeap, anything you want. You would need to enable them in the BIOS though.

If your RAID 1 is just for storage you could easily just put it on the Gigabyte controller, but the Intel one does have its advantages such as verifying and rebuilding data automatically which I am not sure if the gigabyte one does or not.
