  • EX58 Extreme Post Issue

    Hey Guys!

    I have an EX58 Extreme mobo that I got with a Core i7 920 and Patriot Viper 6GB (3 x 2GB) Triple Channel DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600.

    Here is my problem:

The board will not post when running a triple channel configuration (Continuous Short Beeps). Once I remove one of the RAM modules (now running in dual channel) it works fine.

Any ideas? I have the latest bios (F3) and the RAM is in the required DIMM's (1,3,5).

    Any insight would be great.

    THX!!!

Try to update to bios F4C (see Gigabyte latest bios).
    What is your setting?

THX stasio, I gave the F4c bios a try but still nothing. I'm sure what you mean by setting? I can't even get the board to post.

How many (Continuous Short Beeps) you have?
Try to change DIMM slots (2,4,6).
Maybe one of the stick are faulty.Try to boot only with 1 stick(check all three).
Are you running on default setting(nothing chage in bios)?

Try to update to bios F4d (see Gigabyte latest bios).
-(Fix) bug with combination of "SATA RAID/AHCI Mode [AHCI]" and "Onboard SATA/IDE Device [Disabled]" hang start.
            Keep "Onboard SATA/IDE Device"... [Enabled]
