  • GA-EP45-DS3R and Corsair Dominator issues.

My current memories is a pair of Corsair Dominators, TWIN2X2048-8500C5D is the part name. Latencies 5,5,5,15 at 2.1v revision 4.1

Today, i bought a new pair, the same TWIN2X2048-8500C5D but the revision has changed, to 5.1.

If i mix these memories together, my system won't post.

Contact Corsair and they may RMA the old set for you for a new set due to this issue. I know Crucial does for the same issues

It isnt a gigabyte issue at all, but If you want I can help you try to get them stable. But yes like you said many things are different per stick revisions.

So is this 2x1GB x2 or 2x2GB x2 you are trying to run? I can help you try to get them stable, but you may have no luck with mismatched pairs as they likely for sure are different IC Chips and have different voltages warrantied and needed to run stable.

Have you asked The ram guy about a RMA for a matching pair? I think they do do this as I have seen a few users with the same issue >>>

Re: GA-EP45-DS3R and Corsair Dominator issues.

I'm grateful for your reply, and my issue REALLY DOESN'T HAVE anything related with my motherboard.

I went ahead and bought right now a new pair of Dominators, REV 5.1.

And the four dimms altogether works now, so i conclude that different revisions of Corsair Dominators' memories mixed together in anyway WILL NOT WORK, EVEN POST.

And changing the subject, the GA-EP45-DS3R is indeed a wonderful motherboard, feature rich, great overclock capabilities and great bundled full of cables, adapters and things like that.

      Thank You, case closed.

Ya, Nice move! Did you ask them if you could get a RMA or you just plan to sell the others off?

Glad to see you are all up and running smoothly!
