  • EP45-DQ6 - GS0 Drive not found

I moved one of my HDDs (WD Caviar Black 1TB) to GS0 and when booted up I can't find the drive - The Gigabyte RAID driver is loaded - the drive doesn't show up in the hardware device manager. Gigbyte RAID says a device was not found, the Gigabyte raid controler shows up in device manager and shows it's working fine. Not trying to set up a RAID array - just move a HDD to the onboard controler to see if it reduces load on processor by using the onboard controller for the drive to speed up HD Video Rendering - this is the disk I am writing to with finished files. Bios f5 - any suggestion? Is I doing somthing that's not possible?

Those drives are ONLY for RAID, meaning you need TWO drives connected to the purple ports or none at all.

Thanks, I didn't know that. Back to port 5 with the drive then.

Anytime, some of the older BIOS's for that board will allow you to use RAID 0 and 1 on those ports I believe.

But ya, only there for the Smart Backup Feature
