  • First OC - Newbie needs help with EP45-DS5

    Hi all,

I've just put together my first build with the following:

    Q9550 2.83GHz (C1 Stepping)
    EP45-DS5
    Thermalright HR-01+ & Scythe 120mm S-Flex
    512MB 8800GT w/ Accelero S1 rev. 2
    Corsair HX620 PSU
    2x2GB Corsair XMS2 800MHz DHX Memory (4-4-4-12)
    640Gb Samsung F1 Drive
    Antec P182

My case has good airflow so I would like to get to 3.4Ghz. Can I do it with the CPU at stock voltage? Some settings would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

You may or may not be able to with the stock voltage? All Chips are different so it is up to your chip really. And do keep in mind your board has a large vdrop/vdroop. So what you set in the BIOS may be .6 or so less in windows.

    Try this >>>

    Code:

Re: First OC - Newbie needs help with EP45-DS5

Thanks Lsdmeasap! Worked a charm. I've tweaked the settings you gave me and now I am idling in the mid 30s and peaking in the low 50s after several hours of Prime95 torture.

Only using two silent fans in my case as well :-)

      Thanks again!
