  • GA-EP45-DS3L - Constantly reboots

    My rig:

    GA-EP45-DS3L
    Intel Core 2 Duo E7200
    2gb corsair ddr2 800
    inexpensive ATI vid card
    400gb hdd

This computer is an office computer that I built to run office related software. No games will be played on it thus the low-range vid card. I assembly the parts last Sunday, and the system was running fine until yesterday when it for no reason reboots on its on. Now, everytime I power it up... the system boots for 5 seconds, then a beep from the mobo, and it shuts off. Power back on, beeps, power off. This continues until I switch the PSU off. I've unhook all components except the vid card and ram and try to power it on, same results. I have no idea what is going on. Can anyone explain why it is doing this? Is my motherboard dead?

Have you tried to clear the CMOS? Can you get into the BIOS at all?

Have you tested with only one stick of ram in slot one? Have you tested this ram in another PC to be sure it is ok?

Can you test the PSU in another system, or with a PSU tester to be sure it is ok.

Is this2x1GB or one 2GB stick? Did you set the voltage to spec for it in the BIOS?

See post #2 here for how to clear your CMOS >>>>
