  • GA-X48T-DQ6 + 4x OCZ3G13332GK = BSOD

    Hello,

    I have a GA-X48T-DQ6 with a quadcore 9550 and 4 x 1GB OCZ DDR3 with 9-9-9@1,7V

Memory is tested one by one in slot4 and seems to be ok.
Windows XP Pro is installed, but gives me random BSOD.
Since a few days it's even impossible to boot with all the memory installed.
With only 2x 1GB installed, I can boot.
Bios settings are still factory defaults.
What do I need to change to make this combination stable?

Why did you test in slot 4? I would say you should test each stick one by one again (Or at least one so you know it is a good one) and then test that good stick in each slot. I say that because maybe you have a bad slot onboard?

If you find no slots, please post me your settings and what BIOS you are using. I will assume that may be the sole issue as factory defaults are not going to work for 4x1, and not work well for that ram even with 2x1. At those speeds all settings should be manually set

This is Just a template I use to ask people their settings, pay no attention to the numbers in it, replace with yours

thank you very much for your reply!
for the moment, I have replaced the board & memory with a GA-X48-DS5.
as soon as my second processor has arrived, I will re-test the memory AND will send you my bios settings.

        Re: GA-X48T-DQ6 + 4x OCZ3G13332GK = BSOD

I'm no expert but I have had major issues with OCZ memory on my EP45-UD3P - I could not get mine to boot with 2 2GB sticks installed. I finally resorted to taking one stick out and running with 2 GB until my replacement Mushkin sticks arrive. If you search around this forum and others, you'll find that I'm not the only one with OCZ+Gigabyte problems.

If you have the option to return your RAM, you might want to do so and go with a brand that tends to work better with Gigabyte boards, like Mushkin or G.Skill. Just a thought.

          @ Avatar
2x2GB needs several adjustments. You did set those right? I do belive you are right about it though, just wanted to check. My request for testing Samples from OCZ have been ignored so...... Thats all I can really say "For Sure" as I have not used them.

*Side Note* Other companies have been more then willing to help with samples for testing, But OCZ has not answered me AT ALL and I sent a rquest to 3 different Emails. I expected at least a No maybe, but to be ignore is just VERY unprofessional from a company in my point of view.

Several other companies were more then happy to offer samples, and answered me the very next day, some the same day within minutes.

Post back if you have issues, I can help
