Being used to overclocking AMD processors, my new E8400 has given me a new challenge. I am however having difficulty pushingthis chip with anything above a core frequency of 345, with a 9x multiplier this gives a feeble result. Surely this cant be correct. Every review shows this chip clocks to 4gig and above, so my feeble attempts are rather annoying.
If anyone can point me in the correct direction (all these new options on this mobo are driving me mad) It would be much appreciated.
My spec is as followed.
EP45 DS3 mobo
E8400
Gladiator Heatsink (recommended by the guys at yoytech)
2gb HyperX PC8500
1 x Samsung F1 500gb (Boot drive)
2 x Samsung F1 750gb (Data drives)
Sapphire HD4870 Graphics card
Tagan 700w
LianLi V1200 case (Excellent cooling)
Windows XP Pro
Thanks in advance guys
