Re: 996587 at 4-4-4-12
I am not sure 1000 at loose timings will outperform 800 with tight timings, It all depends on what strap and tRD you run, and your FSB and advanced timings. I think it may be close, but faster FSB/Ram will likely be best.
Those sticks are warrantied up to 2.1V, and I would imagine you need at least 2.0V to do 444-12 since that is better then the rated speeds. Auto for all those settings and performance enhance Extreme, and no MCH voltage added is likely your problem, but honestly with 2x2 you may only be able to get 444-12 with those sticks up to maybe 850MHz. I do think 900 @ 544-12 would be better then 1000 @ 555-15, but only your tests could let you know.
500 FSB would be fine for everyday use. I use my E3110 at 450 FSB so ram is 900 1:1 and it performs great.
I guess the main thing I would need to know before making some full suggested settings for you is what CPU speed do you want to run for sure, then I could provide you with a few tables of settings. I can say if you can get 333 MCH latch to boot at what speed you want, it will be better.
For now I can suggest some ranges for you, that way you can play with things yourself. So this would be a General 800-1000+ range of settings. >>>>

Re: 996587 at 4-4-4-12
I would like to run my CPU in the region of ~3.3GHz as it only has a stock cooler right now...
I'm still not sure what FSB to run as im not sure if (FSB x Ratio) 410x2.4 or 490x2.0 would be better. Is running 1:1 better?
How about 333 vs 400 Latch? Any differences other than the ratios available?

Re: 996587 at 4-4-4-12
I agree 1:1 Is overrated and a thing of the past as far as Better goes, this has been tested and proven many times.
Here is a the latest thread I have seen on this with much testing results shown >>>

Re: 996587 at 4-4-4-12
from my experience, i would say that you should be able to run those DIMMs at around 5-5-4-13/15 at 950-1000MHz and get better performance than at 4-4-4-12 at 800MHz... this really depends on your advanced timings, especially your tRD (Static tRead) and tRRD (Act to Act Delay)
EDIT:btw, your primary timings are really overrated... its the advanced tmings that really determine your memory bandwidth (thats why they're for "Advanced" users)Last edited by BongWizard; 10-22-2008, 08:22 PM.

Re: 996587 at 4-4-4-12
You should start by getting your CPU to 3.3Ghz. When that's complete, you can start increasing your RAM. Everything is gradual. When your computer won't boot because your RAM is too high, up the DRAM voltage.
Please monitor your temps when upping the voltage.
Hope this helps.

Re: 996587 at 4-4-4-12
You still need help with 3.3? If so, post your full settings so I can see where you are and I will advise. As for MCH latch, 333 is better for performance, but after certain speeds it may not be stable. I think you can use it if you only want 3.3.
You never answered me about your Fine Clock Ratio Statement?

Re: 996587 at 4-4-4-12
This is where i'm at right now. Previously i was running at 964 @ 5-5-5-18 but the computer locks up while gaming so i reverted to the last known stable...
I would prefer to run 950-1000 since it boosts my Ram Read speeds by 800mb/s.

Re: 996587 at 4-4-4-12
Ahh, ok about Fine clock, I just wanted to be sure as it sounded like you did not see it at first. Ya, I dont use it either, I use 9
All settings should be taking affect in windows, as long as you are not seeing a red warning box when you enter the BIOS. As for Memset Vs. BIOS, you can see what is what here, I outlined with a image and some additional info >>>
