Re: Help with OC q9450 on P45 DS3R

Could be heat, or voltages still need a bit of a adjustment. Have you tried tRd (Static tRead) of 8 yet?

Hey, if you use the Old Control + F1 hotkey, do you see CPU Referen 2 in your BIOS? If so it needs set as well.

Maybe try a bump of all those voltges a notch, that load voltage is maybe why it fails after a bit >>>
    CPU Vcore….……….....................: 1.4 << Maybe one more
    CPU Termination…..... 1.200v.......: 1.34 << Maybe 1.36, try above bump first
    CPU PLL…………………....1.500V...........: 1.57
    CPU Referen.…………....0.76V..........: 0.818

*NOTE* Incase you do see both Reference voltages
    CPU Termination…..... 1.200V*.......: <<<
CPU Referen.…………....0.755V*.......: <<< .64% Of Vtt (Termination above)
CPU Reference2………,,0.800V*.......:<<< .67% Of Vtt (Termination above)

Do I hit Ctrl+F1 on the main BIOS screen?

Many people have mentioned that the max voltage for q9450 is 1.3625. Is that the idle voltage in CPU-Z? If I bump the Vcore up a little bit and the idle voltage is more than 1.3625, is it safe?

If the load voltage may be the reason why my system failed, what should the load voltage be?

Yes, on the MAIN Screen of the BIOS

Yes, that would be the Intel recommended safe voltage. In windows at idle

Ya, it will be safe, but it will lessen the life of the CPU. As long as your temps are good it will be fine, Surely until you want a new CPU and board though for sure.

Why so high though? You should for sure not need that much at 3.36

        Have you tried >>>
        CPU Clock Skew (ps)....................: 150
        MCH Clock Skew (ps)...................: 250

Re: Help with OC q9450 on P45 DS3R

Nothing happens when I hit Ctrl+F1 so I guess I don't have CPU Ref 2.

          I tried the following suggestions:
          - Pump the Vcore past 1.4
          - Set CPU Termination to 1.36
          - Set CPU PLL to 1.57
          - Set CPU Clock Skew to 150
          - Set MCH Clock Skew to 250.

It doesn't matter what the setting is, one core fails right away when I run prime

Does memtest86+ test stable for 8 hours or more? Run it while you sleep, because if your ram is not stable your orthos will always fail

I've not run memtest86+ for more than 8 hours. Can you please give me the steps how to run memtest86+ for 8 hours or more?

Re: Help with OC q9450 on P45 DS3R

You just let it run, have you ever ran it? All you do is start it up and go to sleep, it will run forever if you never stop it >>>

Re: Help with OC q9450 on P45 DS3R

I usually run it for about 10 minutes then stop and run prime. I will let it run overnight and see what happens

Ya, 10 minutes is no where near enough. Your ram must be stable many hours/passes at least in order to even attempt to Run Prime/Orthos
