  • How to configure 2 x 2GB Muskin Enhanced PC6400 CL4 on a EP45-DS3L?

    Hello Lsdmeasap,

    I need to configure the new memory i think. The mushkin 2 x 2GB Muskin Enhanced PC6400 CL4 is running on 4-4-4-15 @ 2.1v and 800MHZ.

Maybe i need to configure more things, or is it good for now?

    Thank you for your help.

    Kind Regards,

well what processor are you running and do you want to overclock it?

I've got a few numbers in there for modern stock Intel processors just as a suggestion, but if you put in the settings you have now and tell us what procesor you're using and we can help a bit more.

Oke i have an Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83 and i do not overclock.

Everything is running on stock. I put the Vcore at 1.15v in the bios. And its running at 333 x 8.5 . Memory at 2.1v and 4-4-4-15.

Is this enough or do you need more?

      Thanks anyway.

      Greetz,

thats plenty, thanks... try setting the memory multiplier at 2.40 and the timings as in my last post. Also trying upping your vcore to 1.25-1.3V, it should give you a bit more stability with the extra juice getting to the cores

Oke thank you very much i will set it on the settings that you gave me.

          Thanks for the help.

But 1.25 is the advised Vcore thats on the box of the CPU.

then set it to at least 1.25V, but remember that you have to compensate for CPU droop (which P45s are notorious for!) caused by heating of the silicon. even though it says that, i believe it also says that you "should never operate this processor at a temperature greater the 36 C" as well, but thats not gonna happen either.

Just try the settings, i guarantee its not gonna hurt your CPU

And you may be able to lower ram timings to 4-4-4-12, and static tRead to 7 depending on if 4-4-4-12 passes memtest. You may also be able to use 400 MCH latch, and 1066 Driving strength profiles, if you want to play around with things with more benchmarks and memtesting

Also, you can likely lower the Ram voltage to 2.0 - 2.05 Mushkins seem to run great if not better under stock voltage
