  • enable AHCI on EX38-ds4 problem

    hello,

after I enable AHCI function, the system always stay about 10s for" installing SATA driver" ( it shows up every boot)

Is this a issue for this motherboard?

Because I can see my laptop and my other desktop never need to wait about 10s doing the kind of this thing

    thanks

Did you install your OS with the AHCI driver with F6 method? If not you must do this, but yes it will always say something along those lines and take extra time to load the SATA BIOS

If you do not need AHCI, disable it

Yes you can use a USB stick (If you have Legacy USB Storage Detect Enabled in the Integrated Peripherals page of the BIOS)

F6 method is for XP only. In vista you will use the "Load Driver" button when installing where it shows you the disks, then browse to the drivers on your USB stick
