  • ep45-ds3r + q6600 @ 3.6 - strange problem

    I overclocked my g0 q6600 CPU to 3.6ghz and was able to boot into windows. I also passed 12 hours of prime95 without errors. The strange thing is, even though i can get it to run in windows stable, i have trouble getting it to POST. When i turn on my computer with the 3.6 overclock, it wont POST 75% of the time and the motherboard resets itself. The other 25% it gets into windows and runs fine. I spent an hour tweaking the voltages without any luck. Is there anything else i can do?

    try pushing the vcore up to 1.375V or more (to beat cpu droop) and try manually pushing up your MCH voltage to around 1.2-1.3V. also, manually set your DRAM voltage to whatever it says on the stickers on the front of your DIMMs.

    What are your full system specs so i can help a little more

      And please post your settings when you get time below. Often times Prime may pass if you are not using Blend so your ram timings being off wont matter. Was you running blend in this 12 hours test, or small or large FFT's instead? And are yuu sure you have not changed things since?

      Without full specs, and what settings you are using that are Prime stable and not windows stable we cannot best advise you. So... Please post back >>>>
