  • S3 resume fixed for the EP45-DS3L!!

    Hello,

It helped for me to flash to the new released bios F9. I tested to resume from sleeping. Normally it gave me an bluescreen in vista, but now it gives me nothing and it works fine!!! With Bios F9.

    Kind Regards,

There is F10 final bios release also, from yesterday, wich actually claims to fix the resume issue.

      GIGABYTE - Support - Motherboard - BIOS - GA-EP45-DS3L (rev. 1.0)

I see only F9 as the latest?

It is version F9 for GA-EP45-DS3L and F10 for GA-EP45-DS3R. The version numbers are different for all boards, even if BIOS codes seem to be mostly identical for the P45 series.

Re: S3 resume fixed for the EP45-DS3L!!

Well, the updated F9 BIOS for the DS3L does appear to address this issue. It says "Fixed Vista S3 resume sometimes failed". Which, in English, is a partial admission of guilt...
I have to admit, this got a huge laugh out of me when I read it.
Having tried a beta version of F9 already with no success, I guess I'm willing to give this a whirl and see if it behaves as advertised. I will post back, assuming I can POST back...get it??

Yes, I'm willing to claim F9 a success with "resume from S3". I have tested it all afternoon, going into STR mode several times and returning to benchmark and test. Have not yet seen a BSOD or even a hiccup. Seems like Gigabyte found the silver bullet!!
Big, big thanks to LSD for getting us this fix.
