Ya man, Mushkins are VERY nice! So how did 1T work out for you? What speeds and timings did you try 1T at?

Anytime man, glad to see you are up and running smooth!!

      Re: GA-X48-DS4 and Corsair Dominator XMS2-8500 2x2GB

Here are the current setttings. Even though I had it set to 1T, it shut down sometime during the night so I'm unsure if it was that or not. In any case, where it stands right now:

      MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)
      Robust Graphics Booster ...............: Auto
      CPU Clock Ratio ..........................: 9X
      Fine CPU Clock Ratio.....................: +0.5
      CPU Frequency ...........................: 3.166Ghz (333x9.5)
      CPU Host Clock Control..................: [Disabled]
*CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ............: 333Mhz
PCI Express Frequency (Mhz) .........: 100
      C.I.A.2..........................................: [Disabled]
      Performance Enhance......................: [Standard]
System Memory Multiplier ..............: 2.40B (I will be playing with this next week)
      Memory Frequency (Mhz) ..............: 800mhz

      Standard Timing Control
      CAS Latency Time........................ 4
      tRCD ......................................... 4
      tRP'........................................... 4
      tRAS.......................................... 12

per your suggestion, these will be played with next week.

      Advanced Timing Control
      ACT to ACT Delay(tRRD)............... 3
Rank Write to Read Delay............. 4
      Write to Precharge Delay.............. 6
      Refresh to ACT Delay.................... 52
      Read to Precharge Delay............... 3
      Static tRead Value........................ 6
      Static tRead Phase Adjust............. [Auto]
      Command Rate (CMD) ....................: 2T

      Clock Driving & Skew Control
      CPU/PCIEX Clock Driving Control...... [800mV]
      CPU Clock Skew Control.................. [Normal]
      G)MCH Clock Skew Control............. [Normal]

**** System Voltage NOT Optimized *****
      System Voltage Control ................: [Manual]
      DDR2 OverVoltage Control............: +0.2V
      PCI-E OverVoltage Control.............: [Normal]
      FSB OverVoltage Control................: +0.10V]
      (G)MCH OverVoltage Control..........: +0.20
      Loadline Calibration.......................: [Auto]
      CPU Voltage Control.......................: [Normal]
      Normal CPU Vcore.........................: 1.22500V

My first thoughts are to o'c the CPU, as that should be readily clockable based on all that I've read. The only issue right now is that I will not be able to play with this until next week due to work commitments. :(

For just doing that (overclocking the CPU), what are the suggested settings/options I should be looking at?

p.s. You're not getting paid enough!

        Re: GA-X48-DS4 and Corsair Dominator XMS2-8500 2x2GB

        Looks pretty good man!

You can do 4Ghz easily with that CPU, of course depending on temps and your cooler

What I would do is drop the .5 fine ratio and use only 9. Then you can keep 1:1 (2.00 Ram multi) and use 450FSB so ram would run 900. Then all you would need to do is find the proper CPU Voltage. You may also need to use 455-12 or 544-12 for Main timings

Just take your time and you wont get frustrated. Good luck, and post back anytime!

        Thanks for the kind words!

          Re: GA-X48-DS4 and Corsair Dominator XMS2-8500 2x2GB

Hi know this post has been closed a while, however, just thought I would add that I have very similar symptoms.

          GA-X48-DS4
          trying to use 4 x 1Gb Corsair XMS2-8500
          2 x Corsair Dominator 2048MB 240-pin DDR2 XMS2-8500 Twin Pack (2x 1024mb sticks) w/heat spreader, 5-5-5-15

However I can get the machine to post and boot with 3 x 1Gb but not 4 x 1Gb, all the modules test fine with any combination of 3 in, but no go with all 4gb, just black screen, no BIOS.

This is a mates PC, now I just gave up and let him run with 3 modules installed as he is only running 32bit OS's anyway, but, he is experiencing bizzare behaviour, he plays WoW alot and it can run perfectly for 3 or 4 days then just crash over and over again (in game), varying from complete non-response lock-ups to blue screens. I have swapped HDD's, he was running a SSD, have tried to different 3.5" SATA drives, have run both XP and Vista clean installs etc

I don't really want to go and buy a new Video Card (he has a 8800GTS 320Mb) and PSU to eliminate them as possible culprits and I don't have any spares. Is there a way I can prove if it is the RAM or not to get an RMA? I haven't tried yet, bought from AusPcMarket 19/01/2009, do you think I will have any trouble?

Sounds like I will have more luck changing over to Mushkins.... wish I new this before hand....

            Re: GA-X48-DS4 and Corsair Dominator XMS2-8500 2x2GB

Well, You may need to bump up the Volts a little on the vdimm(ram) to get 4gig stable. Are you setting the Ram Speed settings in the BIOS Manually as per the RAM specs? This is the first thing to do. If you have tried all that, try running Memtest 86+ V2.11 to determin if the ram is dodgy.
