  • GA-EP45-DS3R Ram Voltage question

I've just put together a new system (specs below) and I'm wondering about the Ram voltage. I've tweaked the timings to 5-5-5-15 instead of leaving it at auto but that's about all I've tweaked. The Ram voltage is set to Auto and it looks like it's supplying 1.8V. The memory suggests 2.1V, so I'm curious is I should up the voltage or just leave it. My system is running stable right now on Auto with the exception of the S3 sleep bug that everyone else seems to have. So should I up it or just leave it since I am stable? Opinions?

Yes to be FULLY stable you should set it to 2.1V. You should also add some MCH voltage for 2x2GB of ram, 1.2-1.3 is good

And yes, S3 is still not fixed yet. A future BIOS update should fix this, but no word yet

And please don't forget to lodge your complaint about the S3 problem with Gigabyte via their tech support page. The more people who tell them about this issue, the better. They have told me they can't reproduce it in their test labs.

Yes, please do, and also leave a comment in this thread. I will be pointing this issue out to Gigabyte next week with my contact so that they will get word that for sure it is not just a few users, or a error that cannot be reproduced >>>
