  • EP35 DS3 IS CM2x2048-6400C5 COMPATIBLE

    Hi All

i seem to have a problem i can not get my head around.

    My Spec's
    Q9450
    Corsair xms2 cm2x2048-6400c5 800mhz 1.80v ver3.1 2x2g
    Gigabyte 9800 GX2
    GA-EP35 DS3 (F1)
    850W antec true power quattro
    sata 500g hd

I have had a problem with the performance of the GPU with lag and running at 50% performance, what happens is that when i re-start the comp i get a BSOD and through running 3dmark06 the GPU runns at 50%, the only way to fix this is for me to pull the ram out and clear the C-MOS then boot the comp and all is fine running at full performance, it is when i re-boot after shut down i get the problem.
i did have a Shaw 860w PSU at first and replaced that thinking the 12v rail wasnt suffciant amps (plus being a bad psu) this did not help i flashed the bios to F3 (did not help so went back to F1)
ran memtest foun error 2# (attach)
i have had this problem since recieving this new build i have tried vista 32 ultimate also, ihave formatted a dozen times to eliminate software issues with no change.
so my thoughts are either the ram is not compatible or the MB has issues.
anyones thoughts or recomendations would be great.

    regards
    Valkarie

      Re: EP35 DS3 IS CM2x2048-6400C5 COMPATIBLE

I do see some settings that would not be correct for 2x2GB

First, not sure if you have or not but you need to add +0.1V - +0.15V to MCH for 2x2GB

I would also add +0.1V to PCI-E OverVoltage Control for stability as well, maybe more with that card

Then I would suggest you raise Refresh to Act (trfc) to 52-62 with the lowest I would suggest/think would be stable being 48-50

42 is just way to low for 2x2GB

The MCH suggestion and Refresh to Act setting will likely solve your issues I would think
