Memory Timing Settings

I'm back...haha...after you've helped me so much already I have a new question. I just updated the BIOS on my EP45-DS3R to F9 and even with the same settings my memory benchmarks have gone down. In particular latency has increased from 60ns to 72ns. I noticed that the memory timings in the new BIOS are slightly different than before. Should I change any of these:

Current timings: 5-5-5-15
trrd 3
twtr 4
twr 4
trfc 55
trtp 4
command rate 2

Channel A (or B) Timing
Static t-read 8
trd phase 0 Auto
trd phase 1 Auto
trd phase 2 Auto
trd phase 3 Auto

trd 2rd(Different rank) Auto
trd2wr (Different rank) Auto
twr2rd (Different rank) Auto
twr2wr (Same/Different rank) Auto

Dimm1 Clock Skew Auto
Dimm2 Clock Skew Auto

The same settings for Channel A and B

My memory is 8GB (4 x 2GB) Corsair Dominator PC8500 currently running at 333MHz x 2.4 (1020 MHz)

Those look pretty tight for 8GB, are you sure you want to mess up a good thing?


Have you tested
twtr 5-12 (often most any # will work, but it does affect bandwidth scores)

Also, have you tried to see if tRD of 7 will work stable?


Have you tested or messed with these settings any >>>
CPU Clock skew..... 150ps
MCH Clock skew...... 250ps

You can try any setting on the DIM clock screws only testing will show you if they help or not.

Like I said those are tight for 8GB, you may not get better with any changes.

And also keep in mind, newer is not always better when it comes to BIOS's

I'll be moving this weekend but I'll try a slightly higher twtr after. Also, I did change the CPU and MCH Clock skews. That was the only way I could get my comp to boot at 3.4GHz.

Cool, well higher or lower tWTR could be better just have to test and see. Also tRD of 7 will be a much larger difference in bandwidth if you can get it to boot
