  • Only 4 bit option when install 9600gt driver

    Hello All,
I'm in need of some help.
I have just purchased a new rig:
    Core Duo E2180 2ghz
    Giga EP43-DS3L Mobo
    Giga 9600GT 512mb PCIE
    2GB corsair TWIN 2X2048 - 5400C4
    etc
    etc
I have had issues with the RAM timing which seem to be sorted now BUT my main issue at the moment is that once i have installed XP i can select the res at 1600X1050. i then install the Nvidia driver(175.19_geforce_winxp_32bit_english_whql) restart the pc then when i comes back into window the res has dropped to 640X480 and the colour depth is 4bit and when i go to change it i have NO other option in the drop down list.
Now the thing i have tried:
Updated my Bois to F6 and update the chipset drivers. Also unfortunatley i dont have another PCI-E card to try. And I do have the power cord plugged into the card which does not seem to be making any diff whether it is plugged in or not.
I am stumped at this point could someone PLSSS help!!!

Nice to hear you got it, sorry I was late in replying to you!!

That is strange, I have never seen a BIOS affect a Video card or screen size. Be sure you set Init First Display in Integrated Peripherals page to the proper setting (PEG fro first PCI-E Slot, PEG2 for the second one)
