I need to get new RAm 2x2 gigs and MUSHKIN is sold out at NEWEGG how does G-SKILL Newegg.com - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory run on this board.Thx for the help i should have ordered Mushkin when i first asked NEWEGG said not sure when ram will be in and the 1 they have is 140+ with some special heat sink not needed for me plenty of air flow in case.Heat sink makes running 4 stick if need in future very hard to fit.Also if some 1 could tell me how/if my hard driver is running at 3.0 sata or IDE.

It will run fine, but I would suggest you wait or buy direct from mushkin. It will be worth the wait. And plus if you buy direct you can get the heatsink switched colors if you like. If they are out of stock on the direct site it is best to call in the AM and ask for sure as sometimes the site is behind a bit.

Does your HD have a jumper on the back of it? If so remove it, if not then it is running at the top speed, IDE or ATA you see in the BIOS is still SATA just worded differently because of lang translations.

Looks like they are back orderd my be a week or so till back at mushkin ill waite the reason i want 1066 is that at Q9450 3.6 1:1 is 1080 and i think i have a better chance getting that with 1066 ram with tighter timming thxs for the fast answer.I love this board 3 complete builds this year and this is a keeper for sure.Gigabyte overclocks better than ASUS RAMPAGE (brother has)with far less voltge all around.Keep up the great work

Well 1066 ram IS 800 ram anyway and will show up as such in CPU-z or anything else you look at it with, it is just up to the user to loosen the timings and set speed to 1066.

Called mushkin week to 10 day before it will be shipped.Went for the more expensive ram at Newegg $140.00 I think even for the little extra $20-$30 more than other ram i will be glad i went this way.Thank for the help and the time.

Newegg.com - mushkin XP ASCENT w/ eVCI technology 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory they have the big heat sink i dont think ill use more than 4gig anY time soon so im not a waite order later guy everytime i have done thatin the past something comes up or price goes up its just my luck some times.BIG heat sink seems to be only different from other 1066 i guess that cant hurt.THX again 4 all the help.I also use XP PRO 4 NOW thinking about going to Vista 64 if i change it will be to that. Any problems that you know of with board/software that i should know before i get myself in to problems?

YA those are supposed to be good. I always wait, newegg has a new sale each week on Mushkins, And new rebates each week. I hate those though, 3 months to get them back

Well Only issue I know of will be using 4GB wont be fully used. You will see it now in SP3 I think but you still will only be able to use 3.0-3.2 depending on your GFX card. But you likely already know that.
