  • GA-EP35-DS4 not turning on properly

    Hi,

I just purchased a GA-EP35-DS4 and having a problem with it. I've hooked everything up, but when I turn it on, I get nothing on the display and the CPU fan doesnt turn on - all the case fans turn on though. Could the CPU fan not turning on be the result of some settings that let the fan kick in when it reaches a certain temp? The MB seems to be getting power since the "Phase LEDs" are on which indicate CPU load and the keyboard flashes all light when i turn the PSU on, but not when I hit the power button.

I got the P160 case and Im beginning to find out that the darn thing doesnt have a speaker, so I cant hear the error messages. Can someone recommend a place where I can buy an old fashion PC speaker to hear error messages?

    Here is my setup:
    GA-EP35-DS4 rev2.1
    Patriot PC6400 Extreme Performance
    E8200
    Arctic Freezer 7 + Arctic Silver 5
    Case: Antec P160
    PSU: OCZ ModXStream 900W

Hopefully someone can help me figure this out.

    Thanks in advance.

Can you expand on that? What turns on? The CPU fan?

Are you getting anything on the display?

BTW Im using a 7300GS at the moment (tried it in both of the PCIe slots).

      Thanks.

        Case speaker:

        Case / System Speaker

Try booting with 1 stick of RAM. Increase the RAM voltage if you can get it to boot. Try clearing the CMOS (set jumper, remove battery, wait 1/2 an hour).

Are you sure that the PSU 12v special ATX 8-pin connector is correctly plugged?
That one at lower left of picture (thanks NewEgg).

            When PC turns on fully.

CPU fan wont turn on when i have this problem. Nothing comes to display. Have to shut down PC few times to get it boot ok.
Everything worked fine before, and i think this might have something to do with bios version F4.

            sry bad english..

Re: GA-EP35-DS4 not turning on properly

I'd suggest against anyone using the onboard 12V connectors, I used one for a week or so to power 4 LED's and it killed them twice (At least on my board anyway)..... And yes I had proper resistors on them

Scared me enough to not plug my card in there for sure

F2 and F3 Support BOTH CPU's mentioned in this thread, I would suggest you both try a older BIOS as newer is not always better.

Use QFLASH.... DO NOT USE @BIOS
