Hi,
I have a GIGABYTE board EP45-DS3R Bios F7
I have 2 X 2GB of GSkill DDR2-800 PK that should run at 2.1V 4-4-4-12
I've changed in the BIOS the memory voltage to 2.1V and the timings to 4-4-4-12
when I reboot and go back to the bios, I get a message: THE SYSTEM HAS EXPERIANCED BOOT FAILURES BECAUSE OF OVERCLOCKING OR CHANGE TO VOLTAGE
and while the volatage values remain as I set them, the old value are used and I get 1.88V and 5-5-5-15 timing (as can be seen in PC HEALTH or in CPU-Z)
I did not do OC for the CPU.
I tried the following:
* one stick (each of them) - works fine with 2.1V
* two sticks in different channels (not dual) - works fine with 2.1V
* two sticks in dual channel - post fails and go back to 1.88V - works fine with 1.88V
I tried both channels, and no go.
any ideas?
Thanks
