  • 48Bit LBA support with P35-DS3R & Seagate SATA drive

I've never had any problem with seeing all of my drive space, drive is partitioned

    ST3320620AS (298 GB)
C: Local Disk NTFS 149997 Mb
D: Local Disk NTFS 155237 Mb

As I understand SATA drivers above 137Gb needs 48bit lba support enabled or else they won't be able to see drive/access the space...
    48bitLBA.com - SATA Hard Drives

I don't have 48bit lba enabled in windows, never had... how is it I am able to see and access all of the hd space?

1)I blamed OCing for drive corruption i've had in the past, could 48bit lba being diabled be the reason?
    2)should i enable 48bit lba in windows?

    1) doubt it, if by chance it was disabled in bios AND you were running a windows older than xp service pack 1 then you just wouldnt be able to access part of your drive. not 'partially access it' but wouldnt see it at all, so there wouldnt be corruption.

    2) what windows is your windows? xp past sp1 has it enabled, vista comes with it.

    3) im just another visitor to these forums, doubt anything i say :)

still, as you are seeing the drives at over 137 gb it means your windows version has 48bit lba enabled

Likely you are using Auto and that is fine, it would enable it if need be
