  • No sound "EX38-ds4"

I installed the HD Audio component for my motherboard instead of the AC 97 one. When i play games however, i can hear the sound which is fine and normal, but when i try viewing videos from Youtube there is no sound. Even during windows i dont hear the 'click' sounds and such. Yes i've installed the drivers, its a new computer so its the first thing you do. And when i try to find the problem in sounds and audio devices under the control panel, all the tabs are greyed out except for the 'sound' and 'hardware' section.

    Anyone? Running XP btw.

    First install this again >>>
Download Software, Drivers and Utilities Filters

Then Go in safe mode and in device manager Uninstall microsoft UUA driver if you see it, and uninstall the HD driver you installed, and reinstall one from here >>>>
    Realtek

Then reboot and be sure not to install any other ones from MS

As for youtube, you may need a codec package installed, I suggest googling K-Lite mega codec package and installing it

Ahhh, sorry for the late reply my system was down for a WC install

Safe mode would be F8 when starting the system, but glad to see you got it working much easier!!
