  • GA-EP35-DS3 AND Kingston 800Mhz CL5 Errors

I bought a new pc with a new GA-EP35-DS3 board and
    2 modules of kingston ddr2 800Mhz CL5 memory (KVR800D2N5/1G)
Before windows install i ran Microsoft memory diagnose tool and it
showed me that this tests failed:
    WMATS+ Failed
    WINVC Failed
    MATS+ Failed
    LRAND Failed
    INVC Failed

What can be the problem here?
    The memory? The board bios?
    I have F1 BIOS version.
    What should I do?
    Thanks in advance.

    Re: GA-EP35-DS3 AND Kingston 800Mhz CL5 Errors

What settings are you using in the MIT section? That is likely the cause. Copy and past back your settings, and what CPU you have >>>

Just a template I use to ask people there settings, pay no attention to the numbers in it, replace with yours

    Robust Graphics Booster___________ [Auto]
    CPU Clock Ratio ____________ [8]
    CPU Host Clock Control_ [Enabled]
    CPU Host Frequency (MHz)__________ [450]
    PCI Express Frequency (Mhz)_______ [102]
    C.I.A. 2__________________________ [Disabled]
    System Memory Multiplier (SPD)____ [2.00]
DRAM Timing Selectable_______ SPD __ [Manual]
    Performance Enhance = [Standard]

    CAS Latency Time________________ ?
    Dram RAS# to CAS# Delay_________ ?
    Dram RAS# Precharge Delay_______?
    Precharge Delay (tRAS)__________ ?
ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD)_________ ?
Rank Write to READ Delay________ ?
    Write to Precharge Delay_________ ?
    Refresh to ACT Delay______________ ?
    Read to Precharge Delay__________ ?
    Static tRead Value_______________ 1-31
    Static tRead Phase Adjust________ 1-31

    System Voltage Control____ [Manual]
    DDR2 OverVoltage Control__ [+0.300V]
    PCI-E OverVoltage Control_ [+0.1V]
    FSB OverVoltage Control___ [+0.1V]

        Re: GA-EP35-DS3 AND Kingston 800Mhz CL5 Errors

        You should use the following

        Robust Graphics Booster [Auto]
        CPU Clock Ratio [8x]
        CPU Frequency 2.66GHz (333x8)
        CPU Host Clock Control [Disabled]
        CPU Host Frequency (MHz) [200]
        PCI Express Frequency (Mhz) [100]
        C.I.A. 2 [Disabled]
        System Memory Multiplier [Auto]
        Memory Freq 800 800
        DRAM Timing Selectable [Auto]
        Performance Enhance = [Standard]
        CAS Latency Time________________ 5
        Dram RAS# to CAS# Delay_________ 5
        Dram RAS# Precharge Delay_______5
        Precharge Delay (tRAS)__________ 15

Leave the rest On Auto for now. Which you are actually not even seeing all of. On the MAIN BIOS screen hit Control + F1 then the screen will flash, then go into MIT and you can see all settings.

        System Voltage Control____ [Manual]
DDR2 OverVoltage Control__ [+0.100V] = 1.9, you ram is 1.8 but 1.9 would be more stable for you, or leave on auto

And just so you know Windows memory test is garbage, you should be using Memtest86+ V. 2.01 >>>
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

          Re: GA-EP35-DS3 AND Kingston 800Mhz CL5 Errors

If that is still failing you should RMA that ram as it is DOA

            maybe i shoul also:
            CPU Host Clock Control [Enabled]
            CPU Host Frequency (MHz) [333]

            ???
            I have 1333Mhz FSB CPU!

Yes, if you want. And >>>
              System Memory Multiplier manual]
              Memory Freq 800 800
              DRAM Timing Selectable [2.40] 2.40x333=800
