Computers are to make things easier not harder...
I think i've got some bad memory. I have ran memtest, one modual good, one reports error. It mentions in the forum to check spd and voltage settings. What do I need to set to make sure its right.

I've tried all different settings so i need some direction....

    1 x Intel E8200 2.66 FSB 1333 VID Voltage 0.85V – 1.3625V

    Thanks in Advance

    Re: Need Help GA-EX38-DS4 & CORSAIR TWIN2X2048-8500C5D

Sorry for the late reply, the board was down this afternoon when I tried to reply earlier

Those look ok except maybe these two should be higher >>>
Rank Write Precharge READ Delay = 4 <<<< Try 9-11
    Refresh to ACT Delay = 56 <<< Try 62
    Static tRead Value = AUTO <<< 7-10

If it is still failing you should RMA the ram

As for voltages, you should manually set your ram and add some MCH anf FSB for stability >>>
    DDR2 OverVoltage Control__ [+0.300V] << = 2.1V
    PCI-E OverVoltage Control_ [+0.1V] <<< For stability
FSB OverVoltage Control___ [+0.1V] <<< For stability
    (G)MCH OverVoltage Control [+0.1V - +0.125V - +0.150V] << At least +0.125 is likely needed for 1066 speeds, and possibly +0.15 if those are 2x2gb sticks

I had got a lot further last night than expected.

Any way I had found a couple of article that also discussed simular issues

      I had set

      DDR2 OverVoltage Control__ [+0.300V]
      PCI-E OverVoltage Control_ [+0.1V]
      FSB OverVoltage Control___ [AUTO]
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control [+0.1V] (The sticks are 4 x 1 gb, I assume extra voltage is need here as well.

Anyway 18 hours of memtest and only one error in test 6, So I must be getting closer to stable. At least i'm not getting 1000 errors a minute.....

I'll plug in your suggestion and report how it goes..

      Cheers

One Step forward one hundrad back.

I made the (G)MCH OverVoltage Control change to +0.125 as suggested and now the computer reboots every 3 seconds by it's self. Turns on and then off. I can't seem to get it to stay on.

Help.... Whats going on. I've tried to clear the CMOS but still no good. Not even a beep indicating a problem with ram or cpu or graphic card. I've reseated every thing and still no good. I've pulled out all of the ram chips except for one and the computer still reboot.

Looks like the motherboard has craped it's self, any ideas????

        Cheers

Unplug the power supply, let it sit 10 min., and then clear the CMOS....
          Take care,

Pull all ram out but one stick. Sounds like you have either set one setting too low or set Static tRead on 6 and you ram wont do 6. A voltage bump even up to +.3 wont do that

Using only one stick, put a hard drive jumper on the clear CMOS pins and unplug your power supply. Let the system sit for 10 minutes, then remove the jumper and plug the PSU back in and start it back up. I find this works better then pulling the battery, and is much easier

The only change I did was toincrease (G)MCH OverVoltage Control to +0.125 as suggested. I have pulled out all sticks of memory but one and put a hard drive jumper on the clear CMOS pins and unpluged the power supply. Left it for 20 minutes and still no go.

The computer just reboots ever 3-5 sec. I can see the CPU fan start then stop and then power goes off. no beeps just off, it then trys to turn it self on again then off etc contantly.

I got a brand new PS today and tried that. Same problem.....

Any ideas... Is the motherboard fried??

It is likely this, as I said to you in my first reply >>>
RMA the ram, and just so you know now
And it just happened to show its face as you increased the voltage and or changed some timings.

You could likely easily get into the BIOS with a different set of ram now, can you borrow a stick or do you have a old one of any speed/size? If so, put it in slot one and fire the system back up.

If you cannot do that test, are you sure the ONE stick you are using to try to boot it again is NOT the one you originally stated had errors?

Yes, Please try with just one stick (One of the good ones hopefully) and if no luck, try to get/borrow/find in your basement a older DDR2 stick to try.

Also, you may want to try and let it cycle 10 or more times, sometimes that gets it going as well
