It passed the test (memtest under xp).
8GB still fails memtest86+ every time and it looks very much like this is an inability to run 8GB of ram.

I've tried all the ram singly and in various 4GB combinations and it passes memtest86+ ok. It passes using 2x2 plus 2x1 GB of the same spec memory (total 6GB).

The only test that fails is memtest86+ and only when there is 8GB of memory on board. This happens every time and all other tests (including memtest) pass every time.

6 is enough, so I'll have to go with that I think - running out of time.

Sorry to hear this! Maybe 6 will be good though, how much do you normally use anyway? Just wondering as 8Gb is alot to me!!

Ahhh, yeah I use them as well! but I only run a Vista one and a XP one along with my system, but I really dont need to set the ram avail to them very high so I am ok with 2 or 4 gb. But I do know what you mean!
