Re: Gigabyte X38/P35/P965 (DS* DQ* S3) Overclocking and General BIOS tweaking Guide
@Chike
Hi thank you for your swift reply.
I just tried to change the values for stability but when ever i try to memtest i get the red errors at the beginning.
Could this be a bad ram problem or could you please add me all the field to test for stable system.

Re: Gigabyte X38/P35/P965 (DS* DQ* S3) Overclocking and General BIOS tweaking Guide
@Doruk G
Try increasing MCH OverVoltage graduately up to +0.125
Run 6+ passes of memtest86+ before running windows.
If memtest86+ pass, in Windows run Prime95 blend torture for 8+ hours.
Watch core temps with CoreTemp/RealTemp to make sure there's no problem with CPU cooling, they should be below 60c for stock settings I think.
Those programs can be found in http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/late...30/#post284762

Re: Gigabyte X38/P35/P965 (DS* DQ* S3) Overclocking and General BIOS tweaking Guide
Good one. You stuck with it. Nice to hear I may have managed to help too.
The cpu volts would be high for my E8500, but if you have temps under control ... 4.037GHz, quite good for a QX9650 as far as I kno. I'm guessing it's not hot where u compute at.
My only thoughts;
Static tRead Value : Rather than auto around 7 is good. I would suggest 7. You're after lowest number that yr PC boots stably on. Auto sets this too high/slow. Memset can show u what auto sets it to under "performance level". Only a small boost but looks good in Everest memory bench tool.
Static tRead Phase Adjust : as far as I know, best left on auto.
Loadline Calibration: Disputed setting. Up to the individual. If you have it auto or disabled with yr cpu volts shown, then enabling might allow use of lower nominal vcore. Not sure if that affects temps.
Keep on clockin'

Continued from page 17...
Hi I took some time off, those late nights along with BSOD's & other instability issues drove me mad so I took a breather.
Anyway back now so I probably should start where I left off. With my current setting I finally got my baby to work, only this time did what
Salty suggested, or just say I detoxed myself from that A2.5 divider that I was hooked on. Good news it worked without the need of more juice to the CPU.
As it turned out or I realized I should say it was that divider keeping me back, the CPU itself is well capable of 4Ghz & reasonably
cool with temps of: As according to CoreTemp Idle @38~41 Load @60~62.
Speed Fan shows exactly the same as Real Temp idle @ 44~47 Load @62~65, Overall OC boost: CPU +34.6% _ FSB +27.6%
Salty thanks for all your help, Lsdmeasap superb tutorial without it I'd be still on 3.0Ghz thanks a lot.

They do look ok, are you failing any tests? If so, you may need to try a bit more MCH Voltage to start with

What is memory max voltage specs?
20 minutes OCCT are not enough, run 8+ hours medium data set to be more sure.
IBT(IntelBurnTest) may help indicate if there's enough Vcore and/or if it can be lowered.
Would be better if you make your own thread, post screen capture of MemSet main(click >>) and SPD(click spd) windows.
Add this system spec to your signature including link to ram specs or at least model/part number.

If u saw this in a template, it is not a recommended setting, but a leftover from an individual overclock.

You mention " PCI Express Frequency (Mhz)_______ [102] "
I thought that should be set at 100
