I just did a fresh install and am having some freezing as well. I think its the AppCent SW. I know that their SW has been prone to problems. Going to try deleting AppCent. I'll let you know if it fixes my freezing.

Thanks for your testify. I confirm that their SW are bugged. In my last installation (before that I reinstalled my OS), when EasyTune was installed, "alt gr + 3" always made the PC freeze.

I shut down app center to test. No freezing.

It could be one of the modules in the app, or it could be the app, itself. Give me a few days and I will uninstall everything and reinstall each component, individually. I will post back with my findings.

Unfortunaly, I uninstalled all my Gigabyte SW but my PC freezed after around 2h of gaming. My temps are still ok. This is so frustrating not to find what is causing this, but the time seems to have an effect. Maybe a cache issue with DDR3 support or a problem with Watchdogs (but I also had one with Battlefield 3).

Edit : I tried each DDR slot with each DDR module, one by one, with success. So it seems that the problem comes from dual channel. My DDR is G.skill TridentX 2400 cl10 2x4. I think that there are settings to adjust this in BIOS. I'll try them soon.

I'm on IE11 browser but my freezes only occurs when I'm playing 3D games.

I found what caused the issue.

One of my DDR3 stick was very sensitive. If I moved it just by 1 mm, it made my system to freeze. So I unmouted it and cleaned it (tissue + blow on the contacts). Everything seems to be fine now. There was probably a small pervert dust. I'll be back if I discover something else.

I have a Z97x-UD5H with an i7 4790k. Recently, I updated the BIOS from F7 to F8, and I started experiencing freezes in Windows (8.1). They always happened when I was just browsing the internet (using Chrome), but nothing shows up in the event log at the time, and I end up having to hit the reset button. While it is 'frozen', I can select other windows once, then that window will become unresponsive. This has been happening about once per hour when browsing, but it does not seem to happen when playing games.

I attempted to downgrade the BIOS back to F7, but that just resulted in it automatically copying the backup BIOS over to the main one and overwriting F7 back to F8, and then boot looping until I pull the CMOS battery (the CMOS reset button does not help).

How likely is it that the F8 BIOS is causing this issue? Do I have any options other than waiting for another version to come out?

discussion forums said that in OLD versions “SKU Standard Manageability” KVM is missing.

My Question is - how to turn, reflash, buy, etc. KVM function on this motherboard.
