I am planning an ASUS Retro-ROG build.
I am having much difficulty finding the key component which is a fully functioning Maximus II Gene motherboard.
If anyone knows where I can get a good specimen, please notify me.
Reason for this concept:
1. Will keep me occupied until the Rampage V Black Edition, or (X99-type) equivalent, hits the marketplace
2. Found an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 & Samsung DDR2 800Mhz 2 x 4GB in the parts bin
3. Old ROGs never die
Update:
While doing some garage cleaning, also discovered a new/never used (old) LIAN LI PC-75 silver case with 2 x RH-600 HDD Racks.
I may use that for this build, or possibly another ASUS build with the latest-older edition of their Deluxe boards containing blue hardware as this case was initially purchased for a silver & blue theme build.
