  • EP2C602 BMC Self Test Status FAILED

I have recently started using the BMC on my motherboards and after configuring this particular server, I noticed severe speed issues in the web interface. I went to flash the BMC firmware, but could not even get to the file browser window. Upon rebooting the server, the BIOS is now showing "BMC Self Test Status Failed" and no MAC addresses are showing in the BMC network configuration window.

I did see a post where someone named Bill helped someone with a similar problem, but the solution wasn't posted in the thread.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Ricochet.

Re: EP2C602 BMC Self Test Status FAILED

So, I ended up figuring this one out myself. I did not realize that by default the IPMI has it's own port, and in addition to this it is teamed with one of the LAN ports. Once I disabled teaming and plugged into the correct port, all problems were resolved.

    Thanks,
    Ricochet.
