Quad vs dual channel RAM

I have a new build of:
ASRock X299 Taichi MOBO
8 sticks of 16Gb Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM
Intel I7-7820 CPU
Three 1TB SSDs

I can't get the thing to run on quad channel. It recognizes all 8 DIMMs but is only using 4 of them.
Is there a BIOS setting that has to be changed??

Welcome to the forum.

Corsair sells five different 8 x 16GB kits of their Dominator Platinum ram. You need to check to see if your particular kit is listed as compatible in ASRocks QVL memory list or if Corsair has tested your memory kit with your motherboard.

ASRock has the following notes at ASRock > X299 Taichi

Note1: Quad Channel: V = supports 4 modules and 8 modules
Note2: 4PCS = tested successfully with 4 modules
Note3: The O.C. mode is not guaranteed. It depends on whole system configuration and other parameters.
Note4: For system stability, use more efficient memory cooling system to support a full memory load (8 DIMMs) when overclocking.
Note5: Only SkyLake-X support quad channel, KabyLake-X support dual channel.
Note6: Please instal A1 / B1 / C1 /D1 first instead of A2 / B2 /C2 / D2
