Hello,
After working for several months I came home today to my NAS being down and not powering on. No hardware / firmware changes were made, so very odd.
Here's my hardware:
At first I thought it might be power supply, but I'm able to see the power LED on the MB and can log into the IPMI web interface.
Things I have tried:
When I connect the power cable to the supply the fan spins shortly, as the power led lights up. But the machine won't boot when pressing the power button, or trying to power on through the web interface. Nothing shows up in the Remote Control console. And I can't access the BIOS.
I see messages like the following in the System Log:
Not sure how to resolve or if I need to RMA. :(
After working for several months I came home today to my NAS being down and not powering on. No hardware / firmware changes were made, so very odd.
Here's my hardware:
- SilverStone DS380B
- SILVERSTONE SFX Series SX600-G
- ASRock C2550D4I Mini ITX
- CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 (4x4GB)
At first I thought it might be power supply, but I'm able to see the power LED on the MB and can log into the IPMI web interface.
Things I have tried:
- Remove all drives / power, reconnect only MB power.
- Remove / re-seat ram.
- Remove all but one or two sticks of memory.
- Remove battery, wait 1 minute then re-insert and re-connect power.
- Update BCM firmware though the UI.

I see messages like the following in the System Log:
- kernel: Root-NFS: No NFS server available, giving up.
- kernel: VFS: Unable to mount root fs via NFS, trying floppy.
- kernel: I2C1: Master-Xfer failed. Bus busy
- kernel: ERROR: I2C1: BUS recovery did not succeed
Not sure how to resolve or if I need to RMA. :(
