  • Z97M OC Formula - M.2 for Booting

    Hi,
Evidently I hadn't read quite enough about the ASRock implementation of the M.2 slot and have questions. Even though it's supposed to be PCIe and Sata compatible, I can't get my particular Sata M.2 SSD to be recognized, let alone boot.

I've updated to the latest 2.40 bios, but is there any other chance that this slot can be used to boot the OS (Win 7 Pro/64) somehow?

Thanks - & Happy New Year!

    Mike

just because the m2 is not detected does not mean you cant boot up + win7 (driver needed custom inf)
as long as its detected as a boot device

go 950 but it need cooling (im using top fan to cool it down) but you can use a pci-e card too

win 7 need a inf driver samsug does not release the inf, but people have made them..
