Hi There,
I have a 990FX Killer 3.1 Mainboard which I wanted to use to test the new Samsung 950 Pro M2 SSD 256Gb compared to the older 850 Pro 512Gb SATA drives, the big draw being the promised PCIe x4 @ 10Gbps performance boost.
I have the SSD installed and the latest bios on the board, v1.20, and the SSD is seen in the bios setup program though not by Windows until the NVMe driver is installed after installation.
I have Windows 7 x64 installed on a regular hdd. If I run the latest Samsung Magician, v4.8, it shows the SSD is only running using x2 @ 5Gbps instead of x4 @ 10Gbps.
Is a BIOS upgrade required to enable full x4 performance for the SSD?
Where can I get it from if one is required?
Thanks
Neil
