Re: Need bios for g41m-vgs3 mb

    Welcome to the forum.

I couldn't find a g41m-vgs3 model on the ASRock web site.

The models listed at ASRock > Motherboard Series include:
    • G41MH/USB3 R2.0 -- G41MH/USB3 -- P41C-DE -- G41C-GS R2.0 -- G41C-GS
    • G41C-S -- G41C-VS -- G41M-PS -- G41M-GE3 -- G41MH-GE -- G41M-GS3
    • G41M-S3 -- G41M-GS -- G41M-S -- G41M-VS3 R2.0 -- G41M-VS3 -- G41M-VS2
    • G41M-VS -- G41MH-LE3 -- G41M-LE/H -- G41M-LE

The HyperX Fury 1333 memory is much newer than your motherboard and probably is not compatible with your motherboard. To avoid memory problems you need to buy a memory kit that has been tested with your motherboard. ASRock has a limited memory compatibility list for each motherboard model and most memory manufacturers have a list of their kits that have been tested with each motherboard model.

Here is an example where someone bought a memory kit that was not compatible with their system:

Hi, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer some clarification. Our currently manufactured memory, including the HyperX Fury line, is compatible with Intel 6-series chipsets and later. The DH55TC has an Intel H55 chipset which is part of the Intel 5-series chipsets. As such, the HyperX Fury memory is not compatible with your system and we do not currently offer any memory that would be compatible with your system. You can try looking online for recently discontinued part numbers like KVR1333D3N9HK2/8G or KVR1333D3N9H/4G which are compatible with your motherboard. If you are unable to return the memory to your place of purchase, please contact us and we will do our best to work with you. Please check Contact Information | Kingston to reach support in your area.

    Thank you for selecting HyperX.
note: the quoted information is for an H55 chipset and the memory kits in the quoted text do not apply to your motherboard.

You will probably need to update your bios to a newer version because some newer bioses have improved memory compatibility fixes.
Make sure that the bios version that you download is for your motherboard model.

Use the Instant Flash or dos bios flashing procedure to avoid ruining your motherboard.
Read and make sure that you fully understand the bios flashing information that ASRock provides.

We need detailed information about ALL OF THE HARDWARE in your system.

We can best help you after you create a detailed hardware list in the System Specs
portion of your forum profile at the bottom of the profile page or in your forum signature.
Be sure to include brand names and model numbers.
When you are done editing or creating your hardware list, save the settings.
