  • 5-minute delay when powering on. ASRock X99E-ITX/ac motherboard

I just bought the ASRock X99E-ITX/ac motherboard and put all brand new goodies into it and fired it up and....5 minutes and 35 seconds delay before it even tries to boot from the HDD. You can hit F2 but you have to wait all that time before you can even get into the UEFI setup area. Same goes for F11 to choose your boot device. Basically it just sits there for 5.5 minutes not responding, right after you hit the power button. What could cause this? It did this before I made any changes to the BIOS, and I was able to update the BIOS to the current version too, but it made no difference.

Have you tried disconnecting all of the HDD and/or SSD. Sounds like a disk timing out.

      Dear Biff Powerfield,

Please kindly try below suggestion for verify:
1.Change other SATA cable for try.
2.Test the HDD to the other SATA port for verify.
3.Please remove other device and install basic device environment (CPU, only one memory, PSU, onboard VGA) and only one OS HDD for verify this symptom.
      4.Change other HDD for try.
5.Test with clean HDD and OS for verify.

If problem still remains please provide your full system configuration and check whether BIOS>Storage configuration can detect your HDD device.

Did you try plugging it directly into the wall?
