Hello,
I bought the following parts recently, trying to take advantage of the quad monitor ability of FM2+ and Extreme6+, however, I have problem plugging two monitors via HDMI and DVI.
The specs are:
- AsRock FM2A88X Extreme6+
- AMD A8 7650K
- Corsair 8GB RAM
- Seagate 2T HDD
- ANTEC 520W
Initially I plugged in only one monitor using HDMI port, installed Win 7, the motherboard drivers and utilities. When everything is ok (after a few reboots) I turned off the system, plugged in another monitor using DVI port. When I turned on machine again, the Win 7 was loading but stopped / freezed before the Windows logo was fully formed. I shut it down by switching off PSU. After another cleaning the HDD and reinstalling the Win 7 / drivers / utilities, the same problem occurred.
I cleaned up the HDD again, plug in the monitor using DVI port, installed Win 7, drivers / utilities. Everything worked just fine. I shut down the machine, plugged in the second monitor using HDMI port, then the same problem happened (Win 7 loading freezed). So it means both the DVI and HDMI cables and the motherboard are working fine individually.
My question is, can I have two monitors or three monitors taking advantage of HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort ports?
Other than having the problem of two monitors, everything else works fine so far.
Many thanks for any help.
