hello all I have a ASRock H97 Pro4 motherboard and iam looking for a good but cheap and Compatible power supply for it at least 450-500 watt I would think. I am not trying to build a big gamming pc just a low endone with the option to upgrade later if I want

Welcome to the forum.

If your definition of cheap is $60 - $70, you are good to go.
If your looking for a good and reliable power supply, don't even think of buying a $20 - $40 psu.

Sale prices for power supplies can drop significantly at any time.
Many of Newegg's daily specials are only available for 3 - 6 hours.
Some of their other sale items are available for up to one week.
Snuz and you lose.

The Bottom Line

The LEPA MX F1 600W is an example of something that quite simply should never have been sold. From the very start, the MX F1 600W was hampered by a build quality and component selection that essentially made this look like someone was entering a 1971 Ford Pinto in the Austrian Grand Prix. Given the shoddy construction, design, and component selection it was without much surprise that this unit failed every one of our tests today. What was surprising is just how badly this unit failed those tests. The LEPA MX F1 600W posted voltage regulation so bad, while it was running, that the qualifier of "while it was running" would not have applied to the system it was attempting to power. That is impressive. The ripple/noise values and Transient Load Test results were so bad that there are mountains in the Alps outside the Austrian Grand Prix with smaller elevation changes. Then there is the price. If you want to know the price, you will have to go look that up yourself as we will not be linking to that as we think that make us accessories to a crime of some kind.

The Bottom Line

The EVGA 430W is the power supply we thought the EVGA 500B was going to be way back when we saw that unit, or maybe a bit better. Both of these power supplies are very much inexpensive entry level products and while this unit did not perform amazingly it did perform better than could be expected but without the surprise we got from the EVGA 500B. The problem is, the surprise that we got from the 500B was that it passed our testing and, since this unit did not, this is very much just an inexpensive entry level product but not a passing one. And do keep in mind that while our tests are based on ATX12V specifications, we do test at much higher ambient temperatures.

Since the EVGA 430W makes a lot of compromises in its low end build quality, unimpressive voltage regulation, and mediocre DC output quality this unit unfortunately has nothing by the numbers going for it that we can point to and say "yeah, but it does XXXXX" well enough to justify buying other than its "OK" Transient Load Test results, which still aren't good enough to make up for its failure in our regular load test.

Now, all of that said this unit was $19.99 at the time of purchase (and has gone on sale at that price a number of times since) and is currently coming in at $34.99 after $10 MIR. At that price, sure this unit is failing but it was almost passing and lots of much more expensive power supplies can't get as close to passing as this unit did. That has to count for something! This may actually be the best ~$30 power supply sold currently.

Some of EVGA's high end power supplies have outstanding performance and have great prices.
Unfortunately most or all their small and mid-sized power supplies are not good at all.

but after posting this I got to looking for some graphic cards I had around here to see if thay would work and one of them will its (Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4650 1G ) and I found the box for the power supply I put in this computer its a (Thermatake SP-550P 550W) there is a site called
pc-specs.com that rates it as 8 so the only thing iam waiting on is the memory I think I am going to put 4x 2gb =8 gigs total in it and run ether windows 7 pro 64bit or windows 8 pro 64bit it wont be the biggest pc but a good start to a good one for the money I got to spend

It looks like a 350 - 400 watt psu is recommend for your HD 4650 video card, so you should be good to go.

If you need any help with your system, create a new thread and provide details about all of the hardware in your system by filling in your PC Specs.

Create a detailed hardware list in the System Specs portion
of your forum profile at the bottom of the profile page.
Be sure to include brand names and model numbers.
When you are done editing or creating your hardware list, save the settings.

To avoid possible memory compatibility problems you should only buy memory kits that have been tested with your motherboard model.
This means buying memory kits that are on the ASRock H97 Pro4 memory support list or memory kits that the memory manufacturer has tested with your motherboard.

• ASRock > H97 Pro4 Compatible Memory List
• Crucial Compatible Memory Kits for ASRock H97M Pro4

If you only need 8GB of memory I suggest that you buy a 2 x 4GB kit.
If you want to increase the amount of memory in the future, all you need to do is to buy an identical 2 x 4GB kit.
