  • Onboard Audio not detected/ Z97 Fatal1ty Pro

So today my onboard audio decided to fail. Its been running perfectly fine for about a month and today nothing. Luckily I have a USB adapter to plug in my headphones but the motherboard audio panel is completely unresponsive.

Did my onboard audio just straight up die? I reinstalled Windows hoping that would work but it didn't.

I tried reinstalling the audio drivers that came on the motherboard dvd but they are saying "cant detect hardware" or something like that.

    Any help would be appreciated

Check Device Manager for an entry for the Creative Sound Core3D chip on your board.

You can also check the Windows Sound option in Control Panel to look for the Creative Sound Core3D audio source on your board.

It sounds like that audio chip might have died, but that is unusual so check into this a bit more before returning or doing an RMA on the board.
