ASRock Z87 Extreme3 & G3258

Hi there

I am looking at getting a new Z87 Extreme3 mobo with the Pentium G3258.
The G3258 is on the supported CPU list, but only on bios version 2.40 and up.

Would I be able to boot the mobo into the bios with the G3258 if it came with the factory stock bios?
Can I then update the bios to the latest version in order to support the G3258?

Unfortunately I don't know anyone with a 4th Gen socket 1150 cpu, so I can't update the bios before dropping the G3258 in.

Dear GameKows,

System can boot up with G3258 when using BIOS P2.30 or later version.

When booting the system, you can flash the BIOS to the latest version for using overclock.

If your BIOS is older than P2.30, please contact me and we'll assist you on it.
