    hi folks
my problem is whenever I use a usb memory stick or my usb hard drive windows wont allow me too eject it i get the message

Windows Can't Stop Your SanDisk Cruzer Blade USB Device
device because a program is still using it close any programs
that might be using the device and then try again

i have to shut down my pc so i can remove the usb stick etc as i say this happens for any usb hard drive or usb memory stick
ive tried a few things ive read in Google but still the same far short of trying a reinstall i am stumped
any thoughts or help would be most welcome

Indexing Service holding the drive(s) open maybe? Or antivirus auto-scanning on insertion by chance?

Two common ones there, among many.
#1 - Please, when seeking help, enter the make and model of ALL parts that your system is comprised of in your Signature, or at least the model #'s in your System Specs, then "Save' it.
____If you are overclocking, underclocking, or undervolting any parts, informing us of this and their values would prove beneficial in helping you.

#2 - Consider your PSU to be the foundation from which all else is built upon. Anything built upon a weak foundation is poorly built.

Use disk check utility to release your drive; because it terminates all programs accessing it before start.
This utility can be used as "chkdsk h: /f" in command prompt (administrative mode), but its elevated mode (properties -> tools -> check -> scan) can also be used.
Immediately after disk check, try to safe-remove it. If it is still busy, most possibly your computer is virus infected.
