  • asrock extreme 3 - automatic 3-pin fancontroll at cpu_fan2?

    hello

i have a asrock 990fx extreme 3 motherboard with a actual bios version. mounted is a amd fx 8150 with a 4-pin pwm cpu-fan which is connected to the cpu_fan1 connector. next to that connector is the 3-pin cpu_fan2 connector. when i connect there a normal 3-pin 120mm fan, is it possible that the motherboard controlls him automaticly like the cpu_fan1 (BIOS target fan speed + automatic temperature)?

or is it at that connector just possible to control the fan manually like the other 3-pin connectors at the board (cha_fan1, 2, 3)?

thx and sorry 4 my bad english ;-)

Your English is fine, I understand your questions.

A three pin fan connected to the three pin CPU_FAN2 will be controlled automatically, matched to the CPU_FAN1 fan's speed as much as possible.

How well the two fan's speed is matched depends on how closely those fans are in their speed range and need for power.

My two ASRock boards do not have manual control for the CPU_FAN2 connection, so I doubt your board would have that feature.
