  • need help to connect PowerSW and Reset SW

I need help to connect the power SW and the Reset SW. I am a newbie and try to build my first NAS.

this is an asrock B85m pro4 montherboard. attached pic is what I found in the manual. I put the numbers in red to make it clear.

both Reset SW and Power SW have 2 wires, one is red and one is blank.

for power SW, I think i need to use 3 and 4, but not sure which number should be red which number should be black.

for Reset SW, I am lost, not sure if I should use 7 and 8 or 8 and 9. also not sure which color should goes to which number.

Re: need help to connect PowerSW and Reset SW

They way I see it all the GND's are clearly marked, which leaves the ones with # being the +'s of the pairings

    Power Switch = Red #3, Blk #4
    Reset Switch = Red #8. Blk #9
#1 - Please, when seeking help, enter the make and model of ALL parts that your system is comprised of in your Signature, or at least the model #'s in your System Specs, then "Save' it.
____If you are overclocking, underclocking, or undervolting any parts, informing us of this and their values would prove beneficial in helping you.

#2 - Consider your PSU to be the foundation from which all else is built upon. Anything built upon a weak foundation is poorly built.

      wardog's approach is fine.

Wire polarity isn't an issue with the power and reset switch wires.
Wire polarity must be correct with both of the LED connections or the LED's won't work.
      This is my approach:
