      That's good, but you were lucky. Particularly if Crucial said the memory was not compatible.

      Will memory not in the compatibility list work sometimes? Yes it will, but there is other memory that won't work. The lists aren't there to make money for the memory manufactures, there are specs that the memory must meet in order to work, and none of those specs are listed anywhere in the information on the manufacture's website. They might be in the model's data sheet, if there is one, and if it lists the type of memory chips used. That is then cross referenced with the memory controller specs for your CPU or chipset. Does that sound like fun?
